According to a recent USAToday article, wireless devices can be of great help in the kitchen as users prepare this year’s Thanksgiving feast. Fine Cooking’s new tablet app, Thanksgiving Meu Maker, comes in handy for both the amateur cook and the experienced chef as it provides descriptions, recipes, nutritional facts and more for 75 holiday dishes. Also, Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List App is available on several smartphone and tablet platforms and provides users with a massive library of over 30,000 food and drink recipes, step-by-step instructions and the ability to create shopping lists so users don’t forget an essential ingredient while they’re at the store.

As ReadWriteWeb recently reported, 42.3 million users access social networking applications on their wireless devices, a 126% increase since last year according to a new report from comScore. The report also found that there are now 57 million mobile Facebook users and 13.4 million mobile Twitter users, a 50% and 75% increase, respectively, from last year.

As GigaOm highlighted, several new statistics reflect the growing trend of consumers using mobile devices to access their favorite social networks. 350 million Facebook users typically access the site from a mobile device and approximately 103 million Tweets are sent from mobile phones every day. The photo-sharing application Instagram receives 26 new image uploads every second.

As NPR recently reported, a new project is helping drivers in San Francisco locate parking spaces with their smartphones. SFpark shows users the exact location of nearby open parking spots and explains when spaces will become available. Also, the app tells users the price of particular parking locations.

With the help of a smartphone, sending personal postcards to friends and family members has never been easier. As reported in Mashable, several apps let users choose pictures from their devices photo album, add unique text, and then email the finished product to loved ones. Postino even allows users to sign their postcard by writing their name with a finger.
