Mobile Future Statement on House Passage of the Radio Spectrum Inventory Act

Today, the House passed the Radio Spectrum Inventory Act (HR 3125). The bill charges the Federal Communications Commission and the National Telecommunications & Information Administration with conducting an inventory of how spectrum is being used, by whom and how efficiently.

Mobile Future Statement on FCC Debut of National Broadband Plan

Today, the Federal Communications Commission released a National Broadband Plan, as directed by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, designed to stimulate economic growth, spur job creation, foster innovation and investment, and improve education, health care, energy efficiency, homeland security and more.

Statement on FCC Chairman Genachowski Preview of Working Recommendations in the Broadband Plan

Wireless Broadband Benefits Hispanic Population

A report published today by The Hispanic Institute and Mobile Future highlights the opportunities presented by mobile broadband access for the nation’s 48 million Hispanics. As policymakers contemplate the future of broadband and wireless, the paper concludes that successful innovation policies must consider the needs and preferences of diverse Americans, including in particular the rapidly growing Hispanic community in the United States.
